... the echoes...These rivulets of water feel like tears. Perhaps they are. But this empty numbness, With its cold familiarity, Doesn't provoke emotion. These words are just echoes, Do you hear them? Do you feel them? Do they slip off your tongue, As easily as they shatter my spirit? Constantly repeating- Things will never go back; Not to the way they were. Only to realise- Nothing altered in the first place. And that feels so very much worse.... the echoes...
